Giving Back to Others

November 10, 2022

giving back

Thanksgiving is a time to spend with loved ones and reflect on all we have to be thankful for. Another important aspect of the holiday is giving back to others.

Some may think giving back can get more difficult in retirement, but that’s not the case. There are so many ways you can make an impact for others. Here are a few:

Volunteer

“If you’ve honed specific expertise, consider how you can continue to offer those skills to nonprofits. Many organizations need leaders with diverse strengths on their boards.”1

Charitable Giving

You can make a donation during your lifetime or make it a part of your estate plan. “When done properly, charitable donations of retirement assets can minimize the amount of income taxes imposed on both your individual heirs and your estate.”2

Make a Difference

“During your career, you’ve gained expertise and experience in your industry. Now that you have more time, are there ways you can share that perspective with elected officials or community groups to solve some of the challenges you saw?”1

We understand that Thanksgiving can be an extremely hectic time, but we encourage you to take a minute to remember what the holiday is really about – giving thanks and giving back. Remember that we are also here to help you through each step of your financial journey. Please feel free contact us to ask any questions or schedule a complimentary consultation. We look forward to helping you!
